Man arrested in GJ for hatchet attack

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man suspected of attacking someone with a hatchet this Thursday morning.

MCSO deputies with the Major Offender Task Force located 42-year-old Travis Cantrell near 9th Street and Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Cantrell had an active warrant out of Delta, Colorado for allegedly attacking someone with a hatchet during an argument in the early morning hours of September 28.

Deputies arrested Cantrell and transported him to the Mesa County Detention Facility.
