Man arrested after pretending to be rideshare driver, sexually assaulting woman, Fairfax County police say

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it arrested 39-year-old Mohannad Yousef Abura after he drove a woman home from Washington, D.C. and sexually assaulted her on New Year’s Day.

Police said the woman was leaving a location in Dupont Circle after midnight when a Abura, possibly posing as a rideshare driver, offered to take her home. The woman told police he took her to a park in Lorton and sexually assaulted her.

Abura was charged with Rape and Abduction with the Intent to Defile. As of Feb. 7, he was being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
