Man arrested after shooting at a teen in Visalia, police say

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a juvenile over the weekend, the Visalia Police Department said.

Officers say they responded to a shots fired call in the 1000 block of West Goshen Avenue on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 12:42 a.m.

While on the scene, officers say they found evidence indicating a shooting had taken place. Shortly after, a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound arrived at Kaweah Health and was listed in stable condition.

Through the investigation, police identified 36-year-old George Hernandez Aginaga III as the suspect.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Visalia PD Violent Crimes Unit served a search warrant at a cabin in the area of Sierra Drive and North Fork Drive in Three Rivers along with the Special Enforcement Unit, Property Crimes Unit, and SWAT Team.

According to police, inside the cabin, Hernandez Aginaga III was found hiding and was arrested on the scene.

The Visalia Police Department says he will be booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault against a minor, terrorist threats, stalking, false imprisonment, and felon in possession of a firearm.
