Man arrested for two separate Brooklyn robberies on same corner day apart

A man who robbed two women in separate incidents at the same Brooklyn intersection was busted, police said Tuesday.

Timothy Thompson, 42, was hit with robbery, assault, and harassment, among other charges, according to a criminal complaint.

Police caught up to Thompson on Monday after he robbed a 39-year-old woman at the intersection of Miller Ave. and New Lots Ave. in East New York, Chief of Department James Essig said.

The woman fell to the ground during the robbery and was treated at Brookdale Hospital, he said.

When being questioned by police, Thompson admitted he robbed an 82-year-old woman at the same location the day before — and even identified himself from surveillance video, Essig said.

“That’s me — I took the money,” prosecutors said Thompson told police during questioning.

The video showed Thompson ripping $18 out of the elderly woman’s hands at the same intersection about 6 a.m. Sunday, police and prosecutors said.

The woman and the robber struggled over the money, but she ultimately fell to the ground.

She was taken to Brookdale Hospital to be treated for cuts, bruises and bleeding, according to a criminal complaint.

Following arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court, Thompson was held on a $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond, records show.
