Man Attacks Police With Knife After Luring Them With Bogus Emergency Call

A 20-year-old man was found guilty of three counts of gross bodily harm, after he used a bogus emergency call to lure four police officers in London to a residence where he was waiting with a knife.

CCTV footage released by the Metropolitan Police shows the officers approach a house on Liverpool Road, in Islington, before being attacked by Alex Traykov. The officers eventually tasered Traykov before apprehending him.

According to the Met, one officer had lacerations to his left cheek and neck. One of the officers had a cut on her right hand and the back of her head, which caused significant bleeding. This resulted in her fainting and requiring immediate hospital treatment.

Of the other two officers, one had a suspected fracture to her left wrist and the other a 15cm laceration to his forearm.

Traykov was arrested and questioned, but he declined to give any explanation for the attack. Credit: Metropolitan Police via Storyful
