Man broke into Price Cutter and ransacked the store, Springfield police say
Springfield police say they arrested a man over the weekend after he broke into Price Cutter and ransacked the grocery store.
Police say they were called out to the Price Cutter at Grant Avenue and Commercial Street early Sunday morning where they discovered a man who was armed with a knife and had apparently broken into the store and been damaging property inside.
The Springfield Police Department's Special Response Team was called in, and the man eventually surrendered after a lengthy negotiation.
By Monday morning, the Price Cutter was back open.
