A suspect wanted in connection to last week's slaying of a man in South Nashville has been arrested on a criminal homicide charge after surrendering to Metro Nashville police on Monday.

Last week Homicide Unit detectives issued a warrant for Kardeceo Dardy, who had been wanted in the Thursday fatal shooting of Jamaal Zakiya, 23, during an argument inside Zakiya's Tanglewood Court apartment.

According to police, Dardy turned himself in to police Monday morning.

Police said an investigation shows the men, who are acquaintances, had argued over money throughout the day.

The fight turned violent, police said, when Zakiya would not drive Dardy home until Zakiya received gas money.
