Man charged in 2020 Humboldt Park fatal shooting after being arrested in Indiana: police

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Indiana and charged in connection to a fatal shooting last year in Humboldt Park, authorities said.

Perry Jackson, of the Austin neighborhood, was charged with one count of first-degree murder after 21-year-old Dariontae Adams was found shot multiple times the morning of May 24, 2020, in the 1000 block of North Drake Avenue, Chicago police said.

Adams’ death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Authorities arrested Jackson Friday afternoon in the 2200 block of North Main Street in Crown Point, Indiana, police said. He surrendered without incident and was taken back to Chicago.

Jackson is due in bond court Saturday.
