Man charged with child endangerment following Cass County chase, crash

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — A 45-year-old St. Joseph, Missouri man is facing charges following a chase in Cass County earlier this week that ended in a crash.

Cass County prosecutors on Tuesday charged Jacob Rullman with felony counts of child endangerment and resisting arrest.

According to court documents, around 4:30 p.m. Monday, Cass County deputies attempted to stop Rullman in his vehicle, who was traveling southbound on 7 Highway near Creighton.

Rullman failed to stop and continued throughout the county until a tire deflation device was used near the area of 2 Highway and Kauffman Road. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby field.

As deputies were taking Rullman into custody, they heard the sounds of a small child from the backseat. They were quickly able to get the child out of the vehicle who stated she was unharmed. The child was checked by EMS on scene and safely returned to her mother when she arrived.

Rullman was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and is now being held at the Cass County Jail on a $200,000 cash only bond.
