Man charged in Dunbar assistant principal's killing testifies

A man accused of killing his former teacher two years ago testified in his own defense Wednesday. Zayeed Abdul Muhaimin admitted to fatally shooting his former teacher and told jurors why he did it and what he did after the shooting. Abdul Muhaimin, 25, described an alleged plot designed by the victim, Shelton Stanley, to kidnap a former student. The investigation began in December 2020 inside a Pikesville home, where Stanley's body was found wrapped in plastic and a blanket at the bottom of the basement steps.
