Man charged with murder, armed robbery in November homicide and home invasion

A 52-year-old man is facing charges of murder and armed robbery in the fatal shooting of a person in November and a home invasion robbery that occurred shortly later on the south side of Indianapolis, police said.

Marion County prosecutors on Thursday charged Jesse Grabarczyk with murder, carrying a handgun without a license, burglary, armed robbery, criminal confinement and pointing a firearm.

Grabarcyzk is accused in the killing of 47-year-old Vaughn Isom, who police found shot to death in a vehicle near 3100 Harlan Drive shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 27. Police also accused Grabarczyk in a home invasion robbery in the 3000 block of St. Paul Street that occurred later the same day.

The homeowner told police a man pointed a gun and demanded their car keys to get away from a drug dealer. Police said the homeowner gave the robber keys that didn’t match the car in the driveway, and the suspect left the area.

Police did not say how they identified Grabarczyk as a suspect in the shooting or home invasion.

The 52-year-old has been in jail since Dec. 10 on an unrelated case.
