According to the Plains Township Police Department, on February 3 around 3:40 p.m., a man, later identified as Ryan Cannon, 38, of Taylor, called 9-1-1 saying he was walking out of the casino toward State Route 315 and needed a ride to Pittston.

At 4:00 p.m. police say Cannon called Luzerne County 9-1-1 again stating he was walking on State Route 315, needed a ride, and he was in harm’s way. Police noted Cannon said, “his tax dollars should be paying for his ride and he has no money for a taxi.”
Officers said they made contact with Cannon and saw he had a staggered gait and exhibited several signs of intoxication. Due to Cannon being under the influence of alcohol police say they transported him to a residence in Jenkins Township and released him.
Cannon was later cited with public drunkenness.
