Man who committed sex crimes in Delaware County sentenced to 30 years in federal prison

INDIANAPOLIS — A man convicted of sex crimes committed in Delaware County has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

Cicero resident Jacob Scott Glenn in April 2022 was charged in Delaware Circuit Court 3 with two counts each of promotion of sexual trafficking of a younger child, sexual misconduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Investigators said Glenn came into contact with a 14-year-old Madison County girl via Snapchat, told her he was 16 and agreed to sell her vapes, which dispense vapor containing nicotine.

Chesterfield police said Glenn twice drove the girl to the parking lot of a truck stop in Daleville, where he persuaded her to accept the vapes in exchange for sex, not cash.

In July 2022, Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman said Glenn — who faced similar allegations in other counties — would instead be prosecuted in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis rather than in state courts.

The local charges were dismissed, and the Cicero man was transferred from the Delaware County jail into the custody of federal marshals.

In recent days, Glenn — now 26 — pleaded guilty to federal counts of sexual exploitation nd sex trafficking of a child, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison by U.S. District Court Judge James P. Hanlon.

"These heinous crimes are one of a family's worst nightmares," U.S. Attorney Zachary Myers said in a press release.

"The sad truth is that applications like Snapchat (are) not always safe spaces. They are often hunting grounds for predators who seek gratification from the sexual abuse of our children."

After completing his prison term, Glenn will be on supervised release from the remainder of his life, the judge ruled.
