Man convicted of 2018 murder in Wilkes-Barre Twp.

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One man was convicted on Wednesday for a murder that happened in 2018.

According to police, Anthony Shaw, 47, of East Orange, New Jersey, was charged in the 2018 stabbing murder of 39-year-old, Cindy Ashton.

Officials say the murder happened inside Ashton’s home on Nicholson Street in Wilkes-Barre Township.

Police say surveillance video showed Shaw moving Ashton’s car the night she was killed in May 2018.

On Wednesday, February 28, Shaw was convicted of criminal homicide and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
