The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly stabbing Friday night in Wilmington.

Raymond McArthur Hill, 78, was pronounced dead at the hospital Friday after suffering a stab wound. Police were dispatched to 234 Jamaica Drive just after 6 p.m. when a woman called 911 saying she believed her brother was going to harm their stepfather, according to a news release.

When officers arrived at the scene, 23-year-old Ryan Christian Tambis met them at the door, the news release said. Tambis had blood on his hands, according to the news release, and Hill was lying on the floor behind him with a stab wound.

Tambis was taken into custody and transported to the New Hanover County Detention Facility. He was charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
