Man dead, 2 hurt in crash near U of M, officials say

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is investigating a crash that left one person dead and two others injured.

Officers responded to a 2-car crash at Central Avenue and Highland Street just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

A man, 42, was taken to Regional One but did not survive his injuries, a release said.

Two other victims were taken in non-critical condition to local hospitals.

This is an ongoing investigation.
