Man dead, another hurt in shooting at hotel near KCI

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Homicide detectives are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another critically hurt late Monday night. The victims were found inside a hotel near Kansas City International Airport at I-29 and Northwest 120th Street.

Kansas City police say officers were sent inside the Orangewood Inn & Suites after the call came in at about 11:20 p.m. They found one man, 38-year-old Jeremy Hills, who was declared dead at the scene, the other was sent to a hospital.

Investigators took someone in for questioning, but have yet to say if they’re under arrest and facing charges.

The victim who was critically hurt has not been identified and further information is limited at present.
