Police are investigating a homicide after a shooting in northwest Oklahoma City early Wednesday.

Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to an emergency call of a shooting at Copperfield Apartments on 2400 NW 30. Upon arrival, however, officers could not locate anyone who might have made the call.

A short time later, police said they received a second call about a man who had been shot and dropped off at a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sgt. Dillon Quirk said very little information was known late Wednesday morning, but investigators believe the two incidents are connected.

The shooting is the sixth known homicide for the Oklahoma City metro since the new year began, including a deadly road-rage incident and a possible murder-suicide.

No arrests have been made in the Wednesday shooting, but residents with information about the incident are encouraged to call the Homicide Tip-Line at 405-297-1200.
