Man dead, woman critical after motorcycle, pickup crash, troopers say

A 43-year-old Fort Myers man is dead and a 43-year-old Fort Myers woman critical after their motorcycle was involved in a crash with a pickup.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 16700 block of San Carlos Boulevard, near Heidi Lee Lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

Their Harley-Davidson was traveling north on San Carlos Boulevard, approaching Heidi Lee Lane, behind a pickup.

The pickup slowed to turn right onto a residential driveway when the motorcycle attempted to pass on the right.

The right front of the pickup collided with the motorcycle, troopers said.

The man driving the motorcycle died on scene while his female passenger suffered critical injuries.

At least 27 people have died in Lee County crashes in 2023.
