A man was killed and a woman hospitalized with serious injuries after their Honda motorcycle broadsided a pickup truck south of Main Street in Hesperia, according to authorities.

Hesperia sheriff's deputies and San Bernardino County Fire responded to the call around 7:56 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Sultana Street.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a 2003 Honda off-road motorcycle ridden by Anthony Huante, 40, of Hesperia, and a woman. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was driven by a 17-year-old Hesperia boy.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling west on Sultana Street when he ran the stop sign and traveled into Seventh Avenue, broadsiding the Silverado southbound on the roadway.

The driver of the Silverado was not injured. Huante died at the scene. The woman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at (760) 947-1500.
