Man detained hours after shootout with Sacramento officers, officials say
A man was detained hours after a shootout between him and Sacramento officers, police said Sunday. The Sacramento Police Department said after setting up a perimeter to search for the suspect in the gun battle, the man was found hiding in the area and was detained. Officers got several reports around 9 a.m. of a man with a gun near 63rd Street and Lemon Hill Avenue. When they arrived, the man shot at officers and at least one officer fired back. All officers are OK.
