Man dies after Friday afternoon shooting on Murchison Road in Fayetteville

A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon on Murchison Road, police said.

The shooting, in the 1800 block of Murchison Road in the area of Hood Avenue, was reported at 1:36 p.m. by the city’s automated gunshot detection system and callers to 911, a news release said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police. Further details were not released.
