Man dies of gunshot wound while hunting in Iowa on Saturday

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said a man died Saturday while waterfowl hunting in Iowa.

Seth Egelhoff, 26, from Chesterfield, Illinois, was hunting at the Bays Branch Wildlife Area in Guthrie County, according to a news release. The sheriff's department got a call around 1 p.m. about a hunter with a gunshot wound to the face.

Egelhoff was transported to the hospital by helicopter, but he was pronounced dead right after leaving the scene.

The incident is under investigation, but the wildlife area is open to the public.
