Man dies in Holt County crash on Monday
Dec. 20—A Maryville, Missouri, man died in a single-vehicle crash on Monday night.
James Hurst, 50, was traveling east in a Chevrolet Silverado around 8 p.m. on Route C, 2 miles from Maitland, Missouri, when the vehicle began to slip on the ice-covered roadway, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.
The vehicle then traveled off the roadway, struck two trees and overturned onto the driver's side. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to crash reports.
Hurst was taken by Atchison-Holt ambulance to Chamberlain Funeral Home.
He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to crash reports.
