A 50-year-old man died Sunday morning after a shed he was living in caught fire behind a home near Ormond Beach, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire happened around 7:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Seville Street, the agency said. The man, who was pulled out of the burning shed by a witness, died at the scene.

Firefighters from Volusia County, Ormond Beach and Holly Hill extinguished the blaze.

“While an official determination is pending, there were no initial indications of any suspicious circumstances,” said Volusia County spokesman Andrew Gant. “The fire appears to have been an accident.”

The county and State Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the incident.
