Man dies after tree falls on his car while he was driving, police say
Dec. 23—A man died Friday after a tree fell on his car while he was driving west of Thurmont, police say.
The crash happened at around noon on Friday.
Maryland State Police had not identified the man as of 1:30 p.m.
According to state police Trooper First Class Kevin Carter, the man was driving west on Md. 77 near the area of Tower Road. While he was driving, a tree fell across the roadway, Carter said.
The man tried to skid or stop, Carter said, but the tree landed on his car, killing him. He was the only person in the car, Carter said.
