Man drives vehicle off Interstate 43 and into Acuity retention pond in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN – No one was seriously hurt after a man drove his vehicle off Interstate 43 and into a retention pond on the Acuity Insurance property Wednesday afternoon.
Sheboygan Fire Department said in a news release that crews responded to the property — 2800 S. Taylor Drive — shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found the driver had exited the vehicle before it submerged in the water.
The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a precaution, the fire department said, and no one else was in the vehicle.

Sheboygan County divers assisted a towing company with removing the vehicle from the pond.
Sheboygan fire and police, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol all responded to the scene, and Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the incident.
