Man ejected, killed during Roswell rollover crash

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A man has died after a crash early Friday morning, the Roswell Police Department (RPD) said.

Just after 2 a.m., a pickup truck was heading south on S. Washington Avenue when it left the road. The truck hit a utility pole, passed four houses, re-entered the road, and rolled at least once. It came to a rest on its roof near S. Washington Avenue and West Reed Street.

RPD said Logan Kennard, 21, a local man, was the only occupant. He had been ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. Debris was found scattered over a “few hundred feet.”

Authorities believe Kennard may have been driving at a “high rate of speed” when he lost control. It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
