Officers responded to the Sun-Do Kwik Shop on E. 5th Street on Saturday just after 11 p.m., police said. When they arrived they were told that a man wearing a blue puffy jacket and ski mask pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money before fleeing in a white SUV.

An officer found the vehicle a few hours later at about 1:30 a.m. on Roberts Avenue and conducted a traffic stop, police said. As the vehicle came to a stop, one of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran while McKoy was still inside.

A search for the suspect who fled was unsuccessful, police said. McKoy was taken into custody. He was booked into the Robeson County Detention Center on a $275,000 bond.
