Man Fatally Shot On NYC Subway By Stranger, NYPD Says Attack Was Unprovoked
There was another shooting on an NYC subway, making it the second since April. A man was fatally shot on Sunday morning on a northbound Q train around 11:45 a.m., says NYPD at a news conference. The victim was shot at close range by a victim. The attack was unprovoked.
Northbound N/Q trains are delayed while NYPD conducts an investigation at Canal St.

According to witnesses, the suspect paced back and forth in the last car of the northbound Q train and eventually showed a firearm. There had been no communication between the two men until the suspect shot the 48-year-old victim. The victim has been identified as David Enriques.
The suspect fled the scene as the Q train pulled into the next stop at Canal Street station.
Officers found the victim in the station with a gunshot wound to his torso. Enriques was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Enriques was on his way to brunch, when he was fatally killed. He lived in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn and worked as an investment researcher for Goldman Sachs for nine years.
His sister Griselda Vile says, “I wish you guys would go back to Mayor [Eric] Adams and tell him the city is not safe. My brother just became a statistic on the way to the city. He was shot at close range.”
Police say the suspect was last seen in a dark-colored hoodie sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and white sneakers.
N/Q trains are running on the R line in both directions between DeKalb Av and Cana Street while the NYPD conducts investigations at Canal Street.
A woman died in January after being pushed in front of a subway train by a stranger.
