Man fatally struck by train in Manhattan subway tunnel

A man was fatally struck in a Manhattan subway tunnel Sunday afternoon, police and MTA officials said.

The victim was in a northbound No. 1 train tunnel, just past the 14th St. and Seventh Ave. station, at 3:31 p.m. when the fatal accident occurred. It wasn’t immediately clear why the man was in the tunnel.

The MTA suspended 1, 2 and 3 train serivce in both directions between 1/4 u200cChambers St 1/4 u200c. and 1/4 u200cTimes Square-42nd St 1/4 u200c. in the wake of the incident.
