A man who fled from CT troopers allegedly hit speeds over 100 mph. Twice. East Windsor police nabbed him.

An Enfield man arrested Monday allegedly hit speeds as high as 140 mph while eluding state troopers during one of two chases within minutes of each another in March.

Trent Logan, 23, was pulled over by officers in East Windsor, who discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest on charges of first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, reckless driving and failure to obey the signal of an officer/engaging police in pursuit.

The charges stem from two brief chases on March 21 after a Connecticut State Police trooper from the Traffic Services Unit Aggressive Driving Team saw a motorist — later identified as Logan — driving “erratically and aggressively” on Interstate 91 northbound in the Windsor Locks area, according to state police.

The trooper clocked Logan, driving a Dodge Challenger, at 132 mph while he was passing other motorists, state police said. The trooper tried to catch up to Logan, but he sped up and began passing motorists using the shoulders on both sides of the highway, according to state police. At this point, state police said, Logan was reportedly driving at about 140 mph.

The trooper stopped chasing Logan out of safety concerns and got off the highway at the Exit 46 ramp in Enfield. While on the off-ramp, state police said, the trooper discovered Logan had gotten off I-91 at the same exit and once again turned on his lights and sirens on in an attempt to pull him over.

State police said Logan “abruptly accelerated” and got onto I-91 southbound, again reaching speeds of more than 100 mph. The pursuit was called off again for safety concerns.

State police said investigators were able to identify Logan as the driver of the Challenger, obtaining a warrant for his arrest on Friday.

Logan was turned over to state police after he was pulled over by East Windsor police on Monday. He was held on a $75,000 bond and was expected to be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court on Tuesday.
