Man found dead of apparent trauma in Baltimore’s Barclay neighborhood, police say

Baltimore homicide detectives are investigating a man’s death after police say his body was found in the city’s Barclay neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

The department wrote in a news release that officers were called to the 400 block of E. 20th St. at 12:07 p.m. for a report of a death.

Upon arriving, officers found an unidentified man who had died “with signs of trauma to the body,” the department wrote.

Homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death, and his body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine an exact cause of death, police said.

It’s the second death being investigated by homicide detectives this weekend, as another unidentified man was found shot to death in the city’s Mondawmin neighborhood Saturday evening.

Police are also investigating a nonfatal shooting near the city’s Oldtown neighborhood.

Eastern District officers responded to a hospital a little after 2 a.m. Sunday for a report of a walk-in shooting victim. Upon arriving, police said officers located a 40-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

Police said preliminary investigation shows the man was in the 1000 block of Hillen St. when he was shot.
