Man found shot to death at Raleigh apartment

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 20-year-old man was found shot to death at an apartment complex in Raleigh Thursday afternoon. Another man survived the attack

Memphis Police responded to the Summit Apartments on Summit Arbors Circle and Hidden Woods Cove just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police say officers found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to a witness, the man was gunned down over a gaming system.

“I left and I got ready to make my left to go to the other side,” the witness said. “Guys were turning in, and I waved at them.”

Minutes later the victim was gunned down. The witness says the victim does not live in the apartment complex.

“A car just vroom rushed up,” the witness said.

A woman was driving the car and was also helping another man escape.

“He was confused, in a daze. She did the talking. She said can y’all please get the police over here, his friend was just shot in the head,” the witness said.

The woman went on to say that this was an attempted robbery.

Murder, homicide charges added for teen in officer’s death

“Yeah, It was a robbery,” the witness said. “It was over a PlayStation or Nintendo or whatever. He went to meet him to you know, give me the money and I’ll give you the Nintendo.”

According to police, the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s black Dodge Charger. The vehicle has since been recovered.

The City’s Data Hub states this is the third homicide within a half-mile radius in the past year.

WREG also reached out to management over the apartment complex. They said management was not available at the time.
