He was indicted on a felony count of assault on a police officer, pleaded guilty to a felony count of assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, as well as the traffic violations.

Just before he was due for trial last month, Koubeck pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted assault on a police officer, and his remaining counts were dismissed.

The Willoughby police officer stopped Koubeck for going 57 mph in a 35 mph zone on Lost Nation Road.

Koubeck got out of his car. Dash camera video showed he became agitated when the officer asked him to step off the road and sit down.

“I’m not sitting,” he screamed, jabbing his finger in the officer’s face.

The officer struggled to subdue Koubeck, and passing motorists stopped to help.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

“I was having a bad day,” Koubeck told police at the time.

The judge ordered Koubeck to undergo a mental health evaluation and take anger management classes.
