Man hired to get rid of bee's nest found guilty of touching, photographing young boy

A Buckingham contractor was found guilty Wednesday of inappropriately touching a boy at a home in Wrightstown in 2021.

Jeffrey Todd Lukens, 62, touched the boy while working to remove a bee hive at the boy's home in September 2021.

Lukens was found guilty of indecent assault of someone younger than 13 and unlawful contact with a minor, which are felonies, as well as misdemeanor offenses of corruption of minors, indecent assault, invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.

Sentencing was deferred for 30 days.

Newtown Township police, which covers Wrightstown, said Lukens was at the home to remove a bee's nest on Sept. 2, 2021. While there, he offered the boy, 11, a partial bee suit for protection.

The boy was on a ladder using a reciprocating saw on the nest when Lukens massaged his thighs, according to the DA's office. He then lifted the boy's shorts and took a picture with his phone.

Lukens also massaged the boy's lower stomach area, according to authorities.

The boy left when he felt Lukens lift his underwear away from his body, the DA's office said.

Four days later, Lukens returned to the home and asked if he could take a picture of the boy's abdomen area, police said. He then lifted the boy's shirt without his permission, to take the photo.

Investigators searched Lukens' cellphone and found deleted pictures showing the boy's thighs and lower stomach area.

Lukens was a registered sex offender for 10 years up until June 2021. Court records state he was found guilty of felony unlawful contact with a minor and related offenses in October 2010. That incident happened in Buckingham in November 2008, those records state.

A message left for Lukens' attorney was not immediately returned Thursday.

A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
