Man hit by incoming train in Brockton, sustained 'serious injuries,' MBTA says

BROCKTON — A man was hit by an incoming MBTA commuter rail train at Montello station in Brockton Monday morning, authorities said.

At roughly 8 a.m. on Oct. 31, a man was hit by Middleboro/Lakeville Line Train 005 coming from South Station but reportedly survived.

According to MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan, "an adult male intentionally placed himself in front of an incoming train and was struck. The male has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries."

Train service was suspended in the Brockton area until roughly 11 a.m. Monday morning and was replaced by bus service.
