Man hospitalized with serious injuries after shooting at 7-Eleven in Newport News

A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in Newport News Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a shooting at the 7-Eleven at 12330 Warwick Blvd. at 5:31 p.m., Newport News police spokesperson Kelly King wrote in an email.

The area contains various medical complexes close to Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Upon arriving, officers found a man with life-threatening injuries and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
