Man indicted for custodial interference, sex registry violation
Oct. 27—Taking three children for which he did not have custody now has a convicted sexual offender facing two indictments.
Jason Dewayne Frazier, 41, of Carson Lane in East Bernstadt, was named in two separate indictments returned by a Laurel grand jury on Friday.
The first charges him with taking a 6-year-old, 3-year-old and 2-year-old from the custodial person on Sept. 1. Frazier is also charged with violating an Emergency Protective Order/Domestic Violence Order and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The second indictment charges him with failure to comply with sex offender registry and first-degree persistent felony offender on Sept. 6.
Frazier's past felony convictions include trafficking in controlled substance in 2021 and failure to comply with sex offender registry in 2006, both in Laurel County. He was also convicted of trafficking in controlled substance in Clay County in 2015 and tampering with physical evidence in Laurel County in 2009.
An indictment is an accusation only and does not imply guilt or innocence. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
