Man injured in Sharon house fire

Mar. 6—SHARON — A Sharon man suffered unknown injuries in a fire Wednesday afternoon on Charles Street in Sharon.

Fire Chief Bob Fiscus said two people were standing outside the single-story, wood-frame house when firefighters got there. The man was stuck inside, and firefighters found him and got him out.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and Fiscus said the man's condition was unknown.

Firefighters from Sharon, Hermitage, Patagonia and Farrell responded to the fire at 12:04 p.m. at 1049 Charles St.

Firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the front window when they arrived.

Fiscus said the fire was under control within 15 minutes.

The fire's cause and origin remained unknown. The state police fire marshal has been contacted and will assist Sharon police and firefighters in the investigation, Fiscus said.
