Teen injured in shooting on Barbour Street in Hartford

A teenager was hospitalized after a shooting on Barbour Street in Hartford on Monday morning, according to the Hartford Police Department.

According to police, the shooting happened in the parking lot of 281 Barbour Street outside of the Western Union and Dollar General stores. Police responded to the area for a ShotSpotter activation, police said.

A male shooting victim, 19, was dropped off at the Hartford Fire Department station at 1515 Main Street by a private car and transported to a Saint Francis hospital, police said. The victim was alert and conscious when he arrived at the hospital, police said.

His official condition is unknown at this time, according to police.

The Hartford Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at 860-722-8477.
