A man involved in a murder who fled the police for more than three years is in custody.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. on June 10, 2020, members of the Norwich Police Department's Patrol and Detective divisions responded to 52 Laurel Hill Ave. in Norwich for a reported homicide. Upon arrival, officers located 66-year-old Edward Mcintyre, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, deceased.

The Norwich Police Department’s investigation led to the Sept. 15, 2020 arrest of 26-year-old Norwich resident Kendon Cole as well as the issuance of the felony arrest warrant for then 31-year-old Norwich resident Brandon Foster.

According to police, Foster fled the Norwich area and evaded capture until Jan. 18, 2024, when authorities in Charlotte, North Carolina, took him into custody. He remained jailed in North Carolina while extradition proceedings took place.
