Man jailed in southern Indiana charged with robbing Muncie massage spa
MUNCIE, Ind. — Authorities say when an Indiana man went on a crime spree last summer, repeatedly robbing employees at massage spas, one of his stops was in Muncie.
Davis Richard Miller, 26, was charged last week in Delaware Circuit Court 4 with armed robbery, intimidation, criminal mischief and two counts of criminal confinement.
Muncie police said Miller, at the time wearing a mask, entered Thai Spa Massage, 912 W. McGalliard Road, on June 29, 2002, and at first held a handgun to an employee's head and demanded money.
While inside the business, he allegedly damaged two interior doors. When a female employee ran from the building, Miller allegedly pursued the woman and forced her to return.

However, that gave another employee an opportunity to call 911.
Miller then left the scene after taking "some money that was laying around the shop," according to a police report.
Court documents identify Miller as a resident of both Spencerville — in DeKalb County, about 95 miles northeast of Muncie — and Worthington — in southern Indiana's Greene County, about 135 miles southwest of Muncie.
The armed robbery charge is a Level 3 felony with a maximum 16-year sentence, while the confinement and intimidation counts are Level 6 felonies carrying up to 30 months in prison.
In August, state police contacted Muncie detectives and said they had arrested Davis in Vincennes in connection with two holdups at a massage spa in that southern Indiana city, and that he had also admitted to committing the Muncie robbery.
According to an affidavit filed last week, "the whereabouts of Davis R. Miller (are) currently unknown."
However, records indicate Miller is being held in the Knox County jail in Vincennes.
Miller — charged last August with armed robbery and intimidation in Knox Superior Court 1 — on March 3 pleaded guilty to at least one of those charges.
He also faces armed robbery counts — stemming from holdups at massage spas in Fort Wayne — in three cases filed last fall in Allen County. There are warrants pending in each of the Allen County cases.
Miller was also charged with resisting law enforcement in Allen County last June.
