A man jumped to his death from the roof of a nine-story building at Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology Sunday morning while a security guard watched helplessly police said.

The 37-year-old victim got to the roof of the building on FIT’s campus on W. 27th St. at Seventh Ave. in Chelsea at about 5:20 a.m., tripping an alarm in the process, cops said.

When a security guard went up to investigate, the man ran toward the ledge and jumped off, cops said. He died on impact.

Police have not released the man’s name.
