Man killed in head-on crash in Parma identified

Monroe County sheriff's deputies have identified the man killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash in Parma.

Michael E. Bornheimer, 30, of Hilton, was pronounced dead at the scene after two vehicles traveling in opposite directions crashed on Hilton Parma Corners Road just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Deputy Brendan Hurley of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Hurley said that Bornheimer was driving a sedan north and a woman was driving a sport utility vehicle south on Hilton Parma Corners Road - also known as Route 259 - when the two vehicles collided near the Parma Town Hall complex.

It was not immediately known why the two vehicles crashed, he said. Deputies are investigating.

The second driver, whose name was not released, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and on Wednesday was listed in critical condition, Hurley said. Both drivers were alone in their respective vehicles.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 911.
