Man killed in hit-and-run in northern Durham. Police looking for driver and sedan.

A 28-year-old man died early Saturday morning after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident in northern Durham, police said.

Darion Revels was lying down in the southbound lane of Denfield Street near Todd Street when he was struck by a sedan of an unknown make at approximately 4:12 a.m., Durham Police Department spokesperson Kimberle Walker said in a news release.

Revels was pronounced dead at the scene, Walker said.

After hitting Revels, the driver of the sedan fled the scene traveling south on Denfield Street, the release stated.

The crash remains under investigation. Neither the driver nor the vehicle had been found as of early Saturday afternoon.

Walker said the vehicle is missing a silver hubcap, and police suspect the front bumper is damaged.

Anyone with information about the crash or the driver or vehicle should contact Lt. K.L. Kozar with the department’s Traffic and Crash Team at 919-560-4935 ext. 29450, or Durham Crimestoppers at 919-683-1200.
