Man killed in Pueblo fatal shooting identified

A Pueblo man who was shot and killed Sunday night was identified Friday by the Pueblo County Coroner's Office.

James Grubb, 37, died of a single gunshot wound, coroner Brian Cotter announced on Twitter.

Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of East 14th Street on a report of a person not breathing, according to Pueblo Police Department news release.

When officers arrived, a man, later identified as Grubb, was being treated by medical personnel but lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. Grubb was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been completed and Grubb's next-of-kin has been notified, Cotter said.

Police have not arrested or identified any suspects in the killing.

Anyone with additional information regarding the incident is asked by Pueblo PD to contact Detective Joe Cardona at 719-320-3385.
