UPDATE: Man killed while working on pickup truck in Dayton ID'd

May 31—A man who was killed Friday afternoon while he was working on his pickup truck in Dayton has been identified.

Justin Loggins, 38, of Dayton, was identified Monday by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office as the man found underneath a pickup truck around 4:30 p.m. in the alley behind North Harbine Avenue near East Third Street.

The incident initially was reported as a pedestrian crash. However, a Dayton Fire Department official at the scene said Loggins had been working on his truck at the time of his death.

Crews said they believe the man was accidentally crushed to death, but that they asked for detectives to investigate the man's death and go over the scene.

The coroner's office said it was not able to release any further information on Loggins' death.
