Man killed, woman injured in Lafayette shooting

Nov. 26—The Lafayette Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning, according to a news release sent Saturday night.

A woman was shot by an adult male suspect at 750 S. Lafayette Drive after contacting police about a disturbance in her apartment. Police were dispatched to the scene on a report of a shooting about 3:07 a.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is recovering after surgery.

Upon arrival, officers found a second victim, a man, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers think the incident was possibly related to domestic violence.

Officers have named Anthony Yohari Lopez Olguin as a possible suspect. Olguin, 24, is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He is potentially associated with a white 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with Colorado license plate BCKP98.

Olguin's whereabouts are unknown as of Saturday night. Officers warned that Olguin may be armed and advised that he should not be approached.

The investigation is ongoing, and the names of the victims so far have not been released by officials.
