Man killed, woman injured in shooting near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix

Phoenix police confirmed that a man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting near 30th Avenue and Coolidge Street early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the area of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road for reports of shots being fired at around 3 a.m.

“As the responding units arrived, they learned of several shots being fired and two individuals who had been shot,” said Sgt. Brian Bower, a spokesperson for Phoenix Police Department.

One of the victims was a woman who sustained a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening and an unidentified man who died from his injuries after being taken to a local hospital.

“This is still an active scene, and all information is preliminary at this time,” Bower said.
